Resource Upload

This step guides users through uploading resources to the research software prototype. Resources can be files, folders, or links, and must include a descriptive title.

Resource Upload Process

  1. Title: Provide a clear, descriptive title for the resource (mandatory).

  2. Type of Resource: Select the resource type from the dropdown (e.g., Link, Data, Software, Recording).

  3. Resource Upload Options:

    • File/Data: Click Upload Resources to select a single file, then click Save. View uploaded file details on the left.

    • Software Repository/Folder:

      • Check the Folder Upload checkbox, then select a folder.

      • Review validation results for folder structure, checking for required files (e.g., LICENSE, README) and correct folder placement. For details check folder validation

      • Update the folder structure, cancel and re-upload, or submit as-is.

      • View folder details and validation status on the left.

    • Link/Repository URL:

      • Select Link from the resource type dropdown, then enter a URL in the Insert Link field.

      • For repository links, check the Repository Link checkbox, select the repository type (e.g., GitHub, GitLab), and choose an action:

        • Save as URL: Store the link as-is.

        • Download Repository: Download the repository, optionally selecting specific tags or releases for Git repositories (defaults to the main branch if none selected).

      • View link details on the left.

  4. Review/Delete: Uploaded resources are listed on the left, where user can be reviewed or deleted.

Note

  • A success message appears upon successful upload.

  • Errors trigger an error message for duplicate titles or duplicate file / URL.

  • If the git repository url contain citation file it appears. If not found an error message shows.
