This page explains how your research data is handled within the RDMC platform.

Data Within the RDMC Platform

When you upload research data to RDMC, it is encapsulated inside a Research Data Management Container — bundling your data, metadata, software, and execution context together. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible according to the access level you define: Public, Restricted, or Private.

You retain full control over your container throughout the creation process. Resources can be modified or deleted at any stage before sealing. Once sealed, the container becomes a finalized, citable research artifact.

Data Privacy and Legal Compliance

All data processing complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). DFG’s full data protection notice and NFDI’s privacy policy are publicly available.

As a user you have the right to:

• Access and correct your stored data

• Request erasure under applicable conditions

• Restrict, object to, or export your data in a portable format
